NEBB SPECIFICATION FOR
BUILDING SYSTEMS COMMISSIONING
The following
specification for building systems
commissioning can be incorporated in
the contract documents by the
specifying authority. Commissioning
should be located in Division 15
(Mechanical) and referenced in
Division 16 (Electrical) and
Division 1 (General Requirements).
NEBB System Commissioning
Administrators (SCA) are fully
cognizant of the obligations
contained in the NEBB specification,
have received training and have
passed examinations to comply with
the certification requirements.
1. SCOPE
1.1 This section
covers the commissioning of all of
the building systems listed in
paragraph 1.2.
1.2 Systems to be
commissioned include (omit those not
included):
a) HVAC systems
b) Plumbing
systems
c) Fire protection
systems
d) Building
management systems
e) Electrical
systems
2. GENERAL
REQUIREMENTS
2.1 The work
described in this section shall be
performed by a firm certified by the
National Environmental Balancing
Bureau (NEBB).
2.2 The name of
the selected NEBB Certified Firm
shall be submitted to the systems
designer or awarding authority for
approval within __________ days
after contract award.
3. COMMISSIONING
PROCEDURES
3.1 The building
systems, including all equipment,
apparatus and distribution systems
shall be commissioned in accordance
with NEBB Procedural Standards
for Building Systems Commissioning.
3.2 All work
performed under this Section shall
be under the direction of the SCA
who is designated and qualified
under the certification requirements
of NEBB.
3.3 Any
instruments used for measurements
shall be reliable, accurate, and in
good working order; and calibration
histories for each instrument shall
be available for examination.
4. REPORTS
4.1 __________
certified copies of the final
Commissioning Report bearing the
seal of the NEBB SCA of the NEBB
Certified Firm shall be submitted
for review on applicable NEBB
Commissioning Forms or in a format
acceptable by the Owner or owner's
representative.
4.2 Each Building
Systems Commissioning report
submitted shall bear the current
NEBB certified seal and signature of
the SCA who recorded the data.
