Gaithersburg, MD – NEBB, the premier international certification association for firms that deliver high performance building systems, recently appointed Jon Sheppard, NEBB CP, as 2021-2022 NEBB President. Succeeding 2020-2021 NEBB President Ms. Amber Ryman, Mr. Sheppard was instated by the NEBB Board of Directors at the 2021 NEBB Annual Conference in Kapalua, Maui earlier this month.
As a principal partner and president of Atlantic Testing, Inc. in Powhatan, VA, Mr. Sheppard oversees all aspects of commissioning, retro-commissioning, testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB), sound and vibration, and building envelope testing activities. With over 25 years in the industry, he holds NEBB Certifications in Building Systems Commissioning, Retro-Commissioning, TAB, as well as Sound and Vibration Measurement. Mr. Sheppard is an alumnus of Virginia Tech and a frequent speaker for NEBB, ASHRAE, and other organizations within the industry.
Joining NEBB’s Board of Directors in 2015, Mr. Sheppard has contributed to many initiatives over the years. He has served as a member and chairman of both the Building Systems Commissioning and TAB Committees, as well as created and taught several related certification courses.

As NEBB President, I’m grateful to continue that growth, as I help carve out a path for our future,” stated Mr. Sheppard. “We just celebrated NEBB’s 50th anniversary–five successful decades of our many volunteers’ integrity, innovation, and determination.
